-
Empowering the Next Generation of Scientific Researchers
BioThink and World AI Healthcare Congress are coming together to create a virtual platform for emerging researchers to share scientific ideas, present research findings, and engage with experts working at the intersection of artificial intelligence, healthcare, and biomedical science.
The Emerging Researchers — Virtual AI & Healthcare Research Poster Competition is designed to encourage high school and undergraduate students to explore meaningful scientific questions, critically evaluate evidence, and communicate their findings to a broader scientific audience..
-
Open to high school and undergraduate students.
Research topics spanning AI, healthcare, and biomedical science.
Scientific review and selection of finalists.
Live poster presentations and expert feedback.
Recognition and awards for outstanding research.
Virtual participation, with no travel required.
-
The competition is intended for:
High school students interested in biomedical science, healthcare, and artificial intelligence.
Undergraduate students conducting or exploring research in related fields.
We particularly encourage submissions that demonstrate thoughtful scientific inquiry, a clearly defined research question, appropriate methodology, and critical interpretation of evidence.
-
The competition aims to recognize outstanding student research through three awards:
First Place: $1,000
Second Place: $500
Third Place: $250
Proposed awards are subject to sponsorship confirmation. Final award details will be announced before submissions open.
All finalists will be recognized for their participation in the virtual scientific showcase.

THE OPPORTUNITY
A platform for emerging scientific voices
Emerging Researchers is a proposed virtual research poster competition inviting high school and undergraduate students to investigate meaningful questions in AI, healthcare, and biomedical science—and communicate their work to a panel of scientific experts.
Designed to reduce geographic and travel barriers, the competition emphasizes sound research questions, critical evaluation of evidence, thoughtful analysis, and clear scientific communication. Participation is intended to be free and fully virtual.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE
High school & undergraduate researchers
We welcome individual students and student teams interested in AI and biomedical science.
Projects may involve original research, computational or data-driven investigations, or structured literature-based analyses.
INITIAL SUBMISSION
Start with an abstract
The proposed initial submission is a 250–300-word research abstract outlining:
Research question and scientific significance
Approach or methodology
Findings, preliminary findings, or planned analysis
Student affiliation and mentor, if applicable
A 300–500-word extended abstract may also be considered. Only selected finalists would prepare full scientific posters. Detailed guidelines will be available to selected student teams.
COMPETION FORMAT
From research idea to presentation
-
Students submit research proposals or abstracts.
-
A BioThink-led committee evaluates submissions and shortlists 5–10 finalists.
-
Finalists develop full scientific posters and oral presentations.
-
Finalists present their work and answer questions from independent expert judges.
-
Outstanding research is recognized through proposed awards and certificates.
